Fourth of July!

Good news!! (from Hooker Mountain Farm via Cabot/Walden Front Porch Forum):

There will be a PARADE on July 4th at 11am in downtown Cabot. The parade will be followed by Mo's BBQ at the Cabot Village Store, they are giving away their first 100 meals for free! Family games will be going on at the pavilion, hosted by Cabot Rec and their will be live music by Dana and Susan Robinson. If you have ever thought about participating in the parade, this is the year! Please e-mail me at hookermountainfarm@gmail.com to sign up for the parade. Participants can drive farm equipment, create a float, or simply walk in the parade. Let's get creative, let's have some fun! To make things even easier Hooker Mountain Farm Distillery will be donating candy for all parade participants to "toss" so one less thing to worry about when participating in the parade. Let's make 2021 a year to celebrate all we have been through these past 16 months! We are excited to host a covid-safe, 100% outdoor celebration for our local community and neighbors. Cheers!

Now I have a question that older Joe's Ponders may be able to help with: Can you tell me

who the man on the far left in this photo is? The others are Ralph Hastings, Dick Larrabee (white shire), Tom DiLaura, and Garey Larrabee (climbing onto the railing!)

I took the photo to Garey and he was unable to recall who that first man with the black tank top was. These men are on the unfinished footbridge in West Danville, and were no doubt part of a volunteer work crew.  I made it as large as I could to display here, hoping it will be easier for someone to recognize that gentleman. This is a photo we are using in the West Danville history book, and we have not been able to locate any information on it. If you have some knowledge of when that bridge was being constructed, please email me at janebrowncabot@gmail.com, or give me a call at 802-563-2381. I will need at least a little bit of information to write the caption for it, and whatever you remember may be of help. Thanks so much.

This is another of the loose ends we are trying to tie up in order to finish the book.
