Lee Cobb

It is with great sadness that I tell you that Lee Cobb, husband of Karen (Gruggel) Cobb and brother-in law of Jeanne and Stuart Gruggel (summer home on Narrows Drive) died on Christmas morning. I had heard this shocking news earlier, but I don't like to post anything until I've been able to confirm it. This morning I had a brief message from Jeanne. Lee's death was sudden and I do not have more information for you at this time. His obituary is here. My very sincere condolences to Karen and the whole family.

If you would like to send condolences to Karen, her address is: 803 Sunset Dr., Amherst VA 24521.

Our weather has turned on us again - we are having alternating sunny periods and snow squalls this morning. It looks quite nice when the sun is shining, but there is a very cold, blustery wind out of the northwest that sends swirls of that light, fairy-dust snow we got overnight (another almost 2 inches) off trees and snowbanks. The temperature is only 20 degrees, and with the wind, it's bitterly cold.

There is apparently a logging operation going on somewhere west of our house, and I can hear the growl of the feller-buncher harvester as I work at my computer. I may walk along the road later on to see where, exactly, it is working, but right now, I have a lot to do on the history book editing we are trying to finish up, so I guess I'll stick to business - and stay where it's warm! Tomorrow is going to be at least 20 degrees warmer - Looks like a repeat of last week, with nasty weather predicted for over the New Year's Weekend. We wouldn't expect less for the ending of 2020! I have high hopes for a much better 2021 ahead.
