Here we are in the second week of August already! Young people are leaving to go back to college (or not, depending on where they intend to study) and in about a month, elementary and high school kids will be heading to school again - one way or another. This Covid-19 virus has thrown everything out of kilter, but kids are especially resilient and whether they are in a regular school setting with face masks and distancing or learning from home, they will figure it out. Parents the same. We do what we have to do and we're a lot stronger than we think.

Nothing worthwhile is easy, and these past months and the months ahead are not going to be a walk in the park, for sure. We have it pretty good here in Vermont, but I have this underlying feeling of dread like when you're waiting for the other shoe to fall - I just worry that people will let down their guard and the darned virus will take hold here again.

In the meantime, this has been a really great summer for nice weather. A tad too dry for farmers and gardens, but still, pretty nice. Even tropical storm Isaiah wasn't as bad as we had feared. Probably more tropical storms or whatever in the future, but so far so good.

I got this photo in my email this morning - Andy Rudin sent it and said he believes it is Jamie Milne skiing. Whoever it is was taking advantage of the nice calm water of early mornings, before the pond gets busy and choppy. Thanks for the photo, Andy.

Spring Mix!

I started this a couple days ago but got kind of busy and never got back to it. I had posted about the Route 2 construction, but that notice...
