Elisabeth Wiedmer

We are saddened tonight that our good friend, Elisabeth Wiedmer, who was our neighbor for many years on Brickett's Crossing Road, passed away today at the home of her son, Michael and his wife, Gwyn in Anchorage, Alaska. Elisabeth went to live with Michael and Gwyn a few years ago when Alzheimer's disease began to make living alone here in Vermont too difficult. We were sorry to see her decline and leave, but we knew her happiest times were when she was with Michael and Gwyn.
Elisabeth at her Walden home, ready for a trip.

Elisabeth had experienced some health issues recently that put her in hospital, but she had returned home this past week. She passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Even though we "lost" her to the Alzheimer's many months ago, we feel a deep sadness to know she is now gone. She was a very kind, generous, caring soul and a genuine lady in every sense of the term. She loved visiting her family in Switzerland, and welcomed them to her home in Walden. We had many wonderful trips, meals (she was an excellent  cook!) and conversations with Elisabeth, Michael and many of their Swiss family, and cherish the memories of those times with our dear friend.

There may be some who read this who knew Elisabeth and may want to send a note to Michael and Gwyn. The address is:
Michael Wiedmer
2500 Susitna Dr.
