Our family dinner didn't happen yesterday. Instead, I spent the evening in the emergency room at NVRH. Turns out I've been neglecting my water intake, and a few other important things such as getting proper rest. Sometimes I forget I'm not as young as I used to be - or as smart, apparently. All their tests turned out fine and I have a healthy heart - the very efficient young doctor gave me a prescription for meclizine for vertigo, told me to go home, get plenty of rest and drink at least 13 cups of water every day. I was happy to follow her orders. I'm working on the water thing, but that's a lot!

That said, I'm cooking our dinner today - potatoes are done and cooling, meat is in the oven and will be done shortly. It will all be quick-cooled and packaged to rest in the fridge until time to reheat everything on Wednesday when we'll try again. This time, the dinner will be all cooked, so if I have another meltdown, at least everyone will get to eat and I can have leftovers!

We're getting snow and sleet today - not a good day for traveling. I measured 2.5 in. of new snow this morning, but there is a crustiness to it, and it's wet and heavy. Fred did some snow blowing to keep ahead of things, and as near as I can tell, our roads are ok. Some back roads may not be, however. The scanner is on, but not much activity. I'm hearing about a slide-off on a road in Waterford - no injuries, just a vehicle off the road.

Now it's time for lunch and a nap!
