This has been one of those days when we get a little of everything.  We had a little sun, some fog, occasional showers, gusty winds, pretty cool temperatures, and snow in the mountains.  I'm happy to say we didn't get any here - or if there were some snowflakes, they melted when they hit, but at our house I didn't see a single one, although I fully expected to.  I went to Cabot Village to work at the historical building this afternoon and thought I might see some snow on the Plain, but even there it was just cold, wet and dreary.  The foliage was pretty coming down from the cemetery, though, and in the village the sun was shining.  It was cold in the historical building, but we were hauling out material for the Apple Pie Festival on Saturday, so we didn't mind.

Tonight we went to Bill and Diane Rossi's for dinner -  great meal, as always - it's my birthday today and Diane made a special meal - with birthday cupcakes.  We came home full and happy.  She gave me the cutest coasters.  They are called "Glass Slippers" and are made by a neighbor, Joyce Rogers.  As you can see, they slip neatly over the base of a wine glass and stay with the glass.  There are four of them in the set, each one a little different.  I think they are cute as can be.

I had a brief message from Richard Gagne, also a Joe's Ponder, letting us know there is some interest in forming neighborhood watch groups in Cabot.  He's thinking it might be of interest to people on the Cabot side of the pond - and perhaps to others.  He said he will let me know when plans are firmed up, so watch the blog.

Here are a couple of announcements:
