Yesterday evening the Selectboard held a 60 minute public comment
period after which they unanimously adopted a motion to postpone any
decision on an ATV ordinance until after an advisory referendum has been
held. This is good news, and I hope, will encourage the selectboard to
develop an ordinance that better speaks to the concerns and the needs of
more Cabot residents.
Your signatures and help in spreading the word were critical to this
decision, I think. This is a much better outcome I feel than the
antagonistic petition to rescind an ordinance, and will lose ATV
proponents relatively little time over a more hasty ordinance that would
not stick.
Thank you for taking the time to lend your voice; I look forward to seeing what the next few months will bring.
