We went to Bill and Diane Rossi's last night for Mexican taco salads. It was so good! I'm sure Diane took pains to make it less "hot" than it is traditionally, knowing that we aren't partial to peppery-hot food. Everything was perfect and we enjoyed the evening.
We were telling them that the Cabot Fire Department was called out again on Friday night. I saw the trucks going down W. Shore Road and turned on the scanner, but apparently it was another false alarm, but I don't know exactly where. Fortunately, the trucks were running silent so the whole neighborhood wouldn't be disturbed, and that's why Bill and Diane didn't know about it. That's the second time in about a week they have been called o

Diane and Henretta, who lives just up the road from us, went to "Ladie's Night" at Barre Mutuo Friday night. She said they had a very nice time and sent pictures, thanks to (we think) Chico Carcoba who we believe was photographer for the evening. I'm displaying the larger than the thumbnail size I usually use so you don't have to enlarge them. The quality isn't very good when they are blown up to a larger size.
The first picture is Henretta Splain, Diane's friend, Michal Perry and Alba Rossi, Bill's mother.
The next picture is Diane on the left, and Henretta. Henretta has family in Italy, and she goes to visit them as often as she can. She's learning Italian and is adding to her repertoire of Italian foods. She's already a fabulous cook, so learning authentic Italian cooking is a joy for her. I'm sure she enjoys meeting the ladies at Barre Mutuo. Turn up your speakers and take a look at their website:

I have been working on the window quilts again. The velcro came in the mail yesterday, so I grabbed the pieces I'd previously cut and began stitching again this morning. It was really nice to be able to thread that pesky needle first try. The eye drops every four hours are a bit of a drag, but since everything is going so well, I'm not complaining one bit. I bet I could even dodge the pot-holes in West Shore Road if there were any. They honed that stretch between our house and Route 2 so now the pot-holes are gone.
Here's a message that just came to me:
