Fred had a few hours to kill, so he explored some back roads and took some pictures. I'm not sure where he came across this fellow, but the squirrel was probably taking advantage of such a nice day to gather more food for his winter stash. Wise move.

In spite of being a little late getting to the operating room, I was finished earlier than expected, but Fred had anticipated that might happen and was back to pick me up. He had ordered from Subway so we picked up our lunch and were each enjoying our half a "Foot Long" at home shortly after noon.

I have an early morning appointment with Dr. Phipps tomorrow to check how my eye is doing. I'm not sure when I'll be able to shed the plastic guard, but it would be nice to graduate to regular glasses. I now have a permanent lens implanted in the eye he worked on today, and my regular soft contact lens in the other eye I will have done later. Right now reading my newspaper is difficult, but I have non-prescription magnifying glasses I wear when working on the computer, so I may be reading my news on-line for a while.
