It wasn't mentioned here, but in the Caledonian Record today there was a notice that the hours of work on the Route 2 Project are being extended from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. to 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. except this Friday when they'll quit at noon in order for the Danville Fair to get set up - other Fridays work will go from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. All of this is to make up for time lost when they closed down to reorganize in order to have shorter traffic waits. The new work schedule is contingent on whether the delays continue to be no more than 10 minutes.
When our new granddaughter was born about five weeks ago, I told myself I wasn't going to be one of those grandmothers who hauls out pictures and talks endlessly about the cute things their grandkids do. I'll admit I've carried pictures of Jo-Ann with me from the time she arrived from Namibia a year ago last January, and when her baby sister arrived, I tucked one or two pictures of her in my little plastic case I never leave home without. And I admit I love when someone asks me about them so I can brag a bit, but I think I've kept th
e number of mentions and photos on the blog to a fair minimum, so I hope you'll understand that I just couldn't resist showing you this picture of Tangeni (pronounced "Tan-GAY-nee") at one month old. Her mom, Monika, took the picture and I feathered the edges to blend the background. Bill is going to print some for Grandma Floriana to take back to Namibia with her. This is the same picture that was in the Caledinian Record last week. She is doing very well, and so are her mom and dad. So I admit, I'm one of "those" grandmothers. I'll try to keep a level head about this grandparenting thing, but every now and then I'll have to post a bit about my grandkids or else I'll just burst. I know grandmothers everywhere understand; as for the rest of you, I hope you'll give a proud granny a break.
