REVISED Work Update

Danville Route 2 Project

Project: Danville FEGC 028-3(32)

WEEK OF AUGUST 15, 2011

Pike Industries will continue work on the Danville Route 2 project as follows:

8/15/11 - Due to unfavorable weather conditions today, crews have postponed the work on the corner of Route 2 and Hill Street until Tuesday and Wednesday. Work on Route 2 today will be light with occasional alternating one-way traffic patterns.

Hill Street: Tuesday, crews will be excavating on the east side of Hill Street from the entrance to Hill Street from Route 2 extending about 100 feet. While crews are working in this area, parking for Diamond Hill Store and Bentley’s Bakery will be temporarily relocated across the street in front of the Dole Block. A flag person will be present to assist patrons in getting in and out of the parking areas. Crews plan to maintain two-way traffic on Hill Street. This work is expected to last through Wednesday unless unexpected problems are encountered.

Once crews finish on Hill Street, they will move back out on Route 2 between Marty’s and the Village Green to continue installing storm drain.

VAOT will be performing contaminated soils exploratory work in the westbound lane of Route 2 across from the Passumpsic Savings Bank. Two-way traffic will be maintained in this area.

Motorists can expect traffic delays from the alternating one-way traffic around the construction zone. Traffic control will be present to maintain traffic flow. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly for delays.
