I thought you might like to see some of the scenery from Fred's trip today to recycle in Wolcott. It's been an absolutely lovely day with lots of sunshine, and everyone is taking advantage of the weather to get things done before rain hits on Friday and Saturday. Here's a slide show going from here to Wolcott and back -- To Recycle with Fred

I didn't go with Fred today - too much going on here, but we did get out for a nice wa
lk this afternoon and of course checked out the work on Sandy Beach Road where we found Dave, Dave and Dale cleaning up the work site for another day.

That's Dave Lavely you can barely see in this picture; we are sorry we didn't take pictures of all three guys at work today, but I'm afraid we got to talking and forgot . . . ! We will do that next time the opportunity is right. They are making good progress and Dave told us they will
probably be ready to begin working the upper level next week. Dale Bird told us it will be one and a half stories, which is what we had guessed since Cabot has rules about such things. They'll be ready for that phase by next week and will coordinate with Kirk Fenoff who will have his machinery at LaGue's for that tear-down on the 18th.

Dave Chesborough (not absolutely sure of the spelling) was on the job today, too. He worked on our house when we first moved here, and Dave Lavely drew up the plans for our remodeling. That was something like 1996. Dave C. was working with Bill Keach at that time. That was before his "Goodfellas" period.

I just had a Community Alert message that there was a robbery on Cabot Plain this morning between 8:30 and 11:30. The residence of Kathleen Hoyne on Dubray Road was ransacked and computer components taken. Anyone with information is asked to call the Vermont State Police at 229-9191.

Jane,

Just wanted to clarify that our demolition is on the 19th, not the 18th. I didn't want anyone to show up on the 18th and be disappointed. My guess is that we'll be starting between 8 and 9 am.

Also, the building height limitation in Cabot has nothing to do with neighbors' building height as suggested in a post. For residential property in the shoreland district, the limit is "25 feet from the average ground level or two stories, whichever is less".
