Another nice day. We weren't here to enjoy it, but it was nice in Lebanon, NH, too! I went for a routine checkup (all is fine, thankfully) and we met a friend at "Molly's" for lunch. As we were leaving to come home, there was a fine mist, just enough to wet the windshield a little, but by the time we were a few miles up I-91, everything was dry again. Absolutely no snow down there - but no sign of green grass, either. They really need some moisture of some form.

We hadn't been to "Molly's" before, but enjoyed it very much. Fred w
as taking pictures along the way - he has a habit of dropping behind when we're heading someplace and waiting for me to turn around to see where he is - and then of course he snaps the picture, knowing I don't like having my picture taken that much. Sometimes, if I don't turn around, he takes it anyway and those shots never make it here. If I had a best side, that would NOT be it. We were tempted to stop at the Co-op to browse through the books, etc., but really didn't have time. Hanover has lots of interesting little shops that are fun to browse through on some of the side streets.

Evelyn and Ray let me know today that the Ice-Out flag is out!! Ray said the ice is very rough and there are mushy spots, so he was glad to get the platform and flag out. It's out earlier than usual - a least two weeks earlier - but this is a whole different ball game than we're used to.

I found this notice when I checked my e-mail tonight:

I also had a message from Monika. She was able to talk with her mother in Namibia and told me both her mother and sister knew about the elephants but fortunately the town the elephants stormed is far from where they live so there is no danger for them. They are concerned for their neighbors, however, as Monika's sister has friends who have family near Mucusso. They hope the government can come up with some solution soon, but it may not be quick or easy.
