THE LONG AWAITED BOOK BY BILL ROSSI IS HERE!

Bill and Diane brought us a copy of Around the Pond yesterday, and it's
VERY nice. It has glossy soft covers, is 8.5" x 11" and coil bound so it'll open flat, the pictures are great and in full color, and it's a wonderful guide for anyone who's taking a ride around the pond in their boat. How many times have you passed a cottage and said, "I wonder whose camp that is?" Now you can easily identify it. Owners are also listed alphabetically so you can quickly find the cottage you're looking for.

You'll find more information on the web site - it will be listed in our "Local Products" section very soon. Right now I don't have information as to where it may be available in the future, but for now you can get in touch with Bill at 802-563-6088 or send him an e-mail at wlrossi@aol.com
We'll let you know when/if Bill has a book signing - perhaps in the spring, Bill? This would make a wonderful gift and the price is certainly right - $20.
Here's a sample page - click to make it larger.

Congratulations, Bill - a job very well done. This will be a
keepsake book everyone will enjoy having.

The cottages around the pond are forever changing ownership and appearance, and it is important to have an anchor every few years so history is preserved. The last book of this kind was done in 1995 by Elsie Deforge. At that time, the cottages had a different numbering system; numbers were assigned from the outlet in West Danville and zig-zagged back and forth from one side of the pond to the other, with odd numbers along Rt. 2 and W. Shore Rd., and the even numbers running up the east shore.

Then along came the E-9-1-1 numbering system and everything changed. Many people still don't like using the new numbers - the old camp numbers have sentimental value. Bill's book does not depend on roads or numbers, but is what it says - a ride "around the pond."
