Well, apparently the ice on the pond is thicker than we would have thought - this evening I was surprised when I glanced out our living room window and saw what appeared to be an ice fisherman in back of the islands. I got the binoculars and sure enough, someone was out there fishing. I got a picture, but it was dark enough so I've had to lighten it a little so you can see the person. There may be another on the far right, we weren't sure. I think it's taking a big chance to be out there - would be interested to know how thick the ice actually is, but I'm not going out there to ask that fisherman.

As I came back to my computer, this was the view from my office window. It lasted only moments and those dark clouds swept over us and there was nearly instant darkness.
Fred just looked out to see if the fisherman was still there, but he couldn't see him any more. I hope he gets off the ice ok. It's been warmish today, with some rain, and I think there must be water on top of the ice - it looks
very shiny.
