Good morning - well, but the time this is posted it will be afternoon . . .
We have been treated to all sorts of weather so far today. We got 6-8 inches of really wet snow last night, and early this morning it turned to rain. You know what that can do to the roads, trees, and snow blowers! Fred was out early, but it took about twice as long and twice the gas as usual to get all driveways cleared. That stuff is heavy! A couple hours ago the temperature began to fall from the mid 30's and is now about 18 degrees on the thermometer outside my office window. We've had some snow flurries and wind during the temperature drop, and now the sun is trying hard to shine.
I was hoping to get a couple of pictures to show you what it's like, but the ice on everything didn't show up as well as sometimes. It's getting better now with the sun, and perhaps I can get some shots. In the meantime, I was watching how bored our cat, Woody was. Fred and the snow blower caught his attention for a while, but as soon as I opened the bedroom window to take pictures out back, he came to help. He loves to sit on the windowsill when the window is open and watch intently, hoping something will move so he will have something to do. Today it was raining and while he seriously considered jumping down into the snow, about four feet below, he suddenly reconsidered and went UP instead. Here's what happened:
Woody's Adventure
I did help him down, mainly so he wouldn't scratch the woodwork, and now he's fast asleep in front of the fire. He seems to enjoy the Christmas decorations, but he has never really learned to play, so he pretty much leaves everything alone. I don't mean that he won't go after anything that moves, but it better have fur on it.
