I want to share the view from my office window at about noon today. Fred and I were struggling with a pdf I needed for a project I'm doing for the historical society, and suddenly we began to see turkeys marching by. I counted a baker's dozen, but there could have been more because we were concentrating on the computer screen and may not have seen the first of them. Fred got several shots through the window. They were aware of us, but didn't seem very frightened. They were picking seeds and/or bugs as they went along. All nice big birds and hard to tell the adults from the younguns.

I had an e-mail today from Liz Randall (W. Shore Rd.) about George Parizo's mystery photos:

Hi Jane,
I would say the 2nd one is right side up because the white house up on the back field is in my view and it's always been to the left of the newer all wooden home with the large window...but I may be wrong, anyway, Great Picture... I looked at your slide show to Maine, what a beautiful spot glad you and Fred had fun....

I think Liz has it right. How about it, Geroge?

I just received the schedule from United Church of Cabot for activities during the holiday season. (If other churches send their schedules, I'll post them, as well.) Click on images to enlarge them.

If you have children visiting during the holidays, some of the activities going on at the church might be interesting for them (and you) to attend.

Our cat, Woody, is recovering nicely from doing battle last week with whatever it was he encountered. We've discovered a few more bruises we didn't know about in addition to the gimpy leg and injured foot. His chin is a bit battered, too, so I guess he may have gotten in a few licks of his own. I wonder how the other guy looks . . . Woody is a big cat, but not much of a fighter, we think. He always seems to survive, but sure has battle scars. I wouldn't be surprised if he tangles with his cousin up the road, Jamie's cat, Rico. Rico was a stray right off the streets in St. Johnsbury and even now, at least three years since he came to live here he regularly beats up on Tillie, Jamie and Marie's older cat, and also keeps big gangly Otto (their dog) in line. Even though he's considerably smaller than Woody, I suspect he's a much better fighter. A real brawler right off the city streets. I know he's no lap cat like Woody is. Our old Woodpile is happy to stay inside these days - and nights, and we're happy to have him inside.

About Georges' Photos. Both of those houses are in the photo that you have at the top of the blog itself. That also points to the second photograph being upright.

Another Adventure

This week turned out to be a doozie for me. I had anticipated going for a follow-up on my knee on Monday, but instead ended up in the ER at ...
