I'm sure some of you will wonder a.) if you were on the right web site when you logged in this morning, and b.) whos blog you were on when you got to this page. All a result of Fred's on-line computer courses. With lots of input from the other students in his last course, which ended about a week ago, we set about finding a combination that both was utilizing the design elements learned in the course and pleased both of us. There were some trials and errors, but now I think we have a combination we'll stick to for a while. Once the home page was redone, I had to go about recoloring my blog page to coordinate. Sort of like redecorating at home. The blog is much easier to redo than the main web pages - all the helps and color charts are right there for you.

From now on we'll be coordinating the secondary pages with home page, cleaning house a bit as we go along, and perhaps combining some pages or whatever will make the site easier to navigate and more pleasant to use. Don't hesitate to make observations or suggestions. We suppose the stuff taught by professionals is correct, but I think it's important to maintain one's individuality, too, and what works for everyone else sometimes just doesn't fit the need for us. Is that a Vermonter thing? Anyway, we're always open to suggestions, but now we have more of a direction in place, Fred has the know-how and I have the final say, we will work at making the site better as time allows.

It's amazing how much time that kind of stuff takes, though, and what a strain it is on eyes, mind, patience, and sometimes, a relationship. It's a good thing we've had lots of experience working together and know the signs that indicate it's time to quit and go have a glass of wine or take a walk. Or pile wood. That's where Fred is now, and I'm headed for the garden to finish harvesting my Japanese lanterns, but today we're celebrating the milestone of satisfactorily updating home page.
