We had a message from Mike Wiedmer in Anchorage, Alaska this morning with this photo of his mom, Elisabeth, who has a home in Walden. Mike and Elisabeth go to antique auto shows whenever possible. Mike told us that shortly after her 80th birthday she won a 5km foot race for her age group at their auto meet and this year, at age 92, she returned to win again! Way to go, Elisabeth! Mike sent this picture that appeared in their Antique Auto Mushers of Alaska newsletter. On the next page in the newsletter, you'll find a photo of the 1949 Ford convertible Mike and Elisabeth drove to the celebration in Hope, Alaska, which is about two hours from Anchorage. The race is on paths at Hope, an old mining town, and is 5km which is about 3.1 miles long - quite an accomplishment for a 92 year old. We're very proud of her!
