We are sad to report that Janice Morrill (West Shore Road) passed away on Wednesday, February 3, at the assisted living facility in New Hampshire where she has lived for the past three years. Janice loved being at the family cottage at Joe's Pond with family and friends. She and her late husband, Nate, had been active members of the Danville community for many years, having farmed in North Danville and later in a real estate business. Janice had many friends and will be sadly missed. Those wishing to send condolences to her family can send them to her daughter: Suzanne Morrill, 82 Seth Cir., Williston VT 05495.
Janice was not only my friend, she was a distant cousin. Her grandmother was my grandfather Bolton's sister, Abbie Wesson Bolton. Abbie married I. T. Farrow and they farmed in Walden. Their son, also named Israel Taft Farrow, married Burnice Anderson, and their children were John, Ted, Helen and Janice, all raised on the same Walden farm. Janice's brother, John, was last to live on the family farm, and when he died, it was sold and the old buildings were torn down. It was sad for those of us who knew the place, but time changes the landscape in many ways; we lose all sorts of cherished friends along the way.
